Here at the School Founder-Owner Lab, my consultancy's single mission is to partner with visionaries to help them dream, conceive, and launch a private school dedicated to the needs of neurodiverse students—children who continue to be underserved in our public school system.

As retired teachers and principal at four private schools, we have now made it our mission to find the next generation of professionals with that vision of reimagining the educational approach to neurodiverse children, using a prism that does not view them as “disabled,” but as having powers to be nurtured.

We are reaching out to individuals in our quest to find those leaders who have reached that stage in their careers where the possibility of a new challenge and the opportunity to lead a school excites them.

The Founder Cohort Lab starts this September using a personalized, step-by-step roadmap designed to take a raw vision and turn it into a sustainable, operationally viable private school for neurodiverse students.

Once accepted into our program, the founders begin an almost year-long journey designed to support them through six distinct but interrelated phases to becoming a leader of a school that offers strong professional and financial rewards.

Our skeleton of your journey found below is designed to provide interested individuals an idea of our program, taught through bi-weekly cohort gatherings and complemented by more personalized one-on-one weekly meetings.

The program addresses the various opportunities and challenges that the founder may experience as she gets ever closer to her goal; meanwhile, between meetings, she works on refining and building on what she learns during the program.

Design & Deliver: Create the core curriculum, a sensory-friendly classroom design, and neurodivergent-forward operational frameworks.

Launch Your Leadership: Drive the initial student recruitment, regulatory compliance, and community positioning.

Owner-Operator Scale: Manage the profit and loss (P&L), build the faculty team, and scale the school’s long-term regional footprint.

For many, the hesitation is that they believe they do not have the necessary business background and experience. The truth is that no one has all the skills they need when they open a business! Thus, we help you to gain them. You never walk alone.

Our School Founder-Owner Lab is our personalized program that seeks to ensure that every candidate can develop that needed unique mix of business and pedagogical skills.

We are limiting the 2026 cohort to 3–6 committed individuals to ensure the experience is personal and informative and to avoid non-serious “window shoppers.”

Our Leader’s Cohort meetings are scheduled to accommodate the needs of participants who work. Over the course of the year, we meet together bi-weekly to focus on and develop various skills, while we meet one-on-one on a weekly basis to ensure that you are reaching your specific goals.
